자주반
자주반은 10세와 11세로 구성되어 있으며 대부분의 학생들은 듣고, 말하고, 쓰고, 읽기에 자유롭고, 한국에 대한 문화에 깊은 관심을 보이게 됩니다. 자주반은 한국어 중급3과정으로 맞춤 한국어 5를 주교재로 하고 있으며 16개의 단원을 두학기로 나누어 배웁니다.
학교, 가족 , 학교 생활,친구,예절,여행 등의 주제를 세분화하여 기본적으로 단어와 문법을 익히며, 이를 일상대화로 연결시키도록 도와주며, 이를 통해 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기 네 가지 영역을 종합적으로 향상시킵니다. 문장을 이해하고 문단의 내용을 파악하여 문제를 해결하는수준 높은 읽기활동은 자신의 이야기도 나누고, 한국역사와 현재의 시사도 이야기 할 수 있는 시간을 마련해 주며, 학생들의 정체성을 생각해 보는 시간도 마련해 줍니다. 학생들은K-pop댄스, 리코더, 태권도, 한국전통 음악 및 무용, 한국 예술과 문화 수업에 참여하게 되고,교내 한국어 동화구연대회, 교내 마스코트 공모전, 교내 포스터 공모전에 응모함으로서, 한국의 전통문화및 역사에 관한 지식도 넓힙니다.
The Maroon class (Intermediate III)) is comprised of 10 to 11 year olds. Most of the students have completed the previous language courses at MKS and are able to read, speak, comprehend, and write Korean.
The class uses Customized Korean 4 (맞춤 한국어 4) as the main textbook and learn about 16 different topics throughout a year. Students learn advanced vocabulary and complicated sentence structure and discuss personal goals, time, holidays and events in Korean culture, and their vacation experience to other countries or different places. The class provides students an opportunity to discuss topics related to Korean History and their personal identities. Their ultimate goal is to advance students’ Korean proficiency so students will be able to freely express their thoughts verbally and in writing. Students participate in K-Pop dance, recorder, Taekwondo, Korean traditional music and dance, and Korean Arts and Culture classes. Students can extend their knowledge in Korean traditional culture and history by entering the school’s Korean story-telling contest, school mascot competition, and poster contest.
