주황반
“안녕하세요!” 큰 소리로 인사를 하며 교실에 들어오는 5세.6세의 주황반 학생들이 의젓하기만 합니다
주황반에서는 한국어 기초 입문과정으로 가을학기에 한글 자음과 기본 모음의 소리를 알고 단자음과 단모음을 결합하여 글자를 만드는 원리를 배우고, 봄학기에는 쌍자음(ㄲ,ㄸ,ㅃ,ㅆ,ㅉ)과 기본받침(ㅇ,ㄱ,ㅁ,ㄹ,ㄴ,ㅂ,ㅅ)을 배웁니다. 가을학기가 끝날 즈음이 되면 학생들의 한국어 언어능력은 대단한 진전을 보이게 되어 스스로 읽고 쓸 수 있는 글자가 많아지게 됩니다.
받아쓰기의 활동이 가능해지고, 간단한 동화책을 스스로 읽을 수있게 되므로, 동화책 읽고 생각 나누기의 활동은 빠뜨릴 수 없는 학습활동입니다. 문형에 맞추어 간단한 문장만들기, 주제와 관련된 미술활동, 간단한 게임등의 활동은 학생들이 흥미를 가지고 잘 따라하는 활동으로 한국어 실력을 향상시키는데 꼭 필요한 활동입니다.
자음과 모음을 붙일 때도, 받침을 붙일 때도 노래를 부르면서 한국어를 익히는 주황반 학생들은 기쁨과 흥분으로 가득 차 있습니다. K-Pop 댄스, 태권도, 한국예술과 문화 수업은 학생들이 기다리는 수업이며 매 학기마다 선보이는 주황반 노래와 율동발표, 태권도, K-Pop댄스는 보는 이들에게로부터 큰 호응과 박수를 받고 있습니다.
“Hello!” cry the Orange Class students (Beginner I, Introduction), greeting us as they walk into the classroom.
These 5 to 6-year-olds seem mature and we are proud of them. In the fall, Orange Class covers the basic sounds of Korean vowels and consonants and combines simple vowels and consonants to form words. In the spring, students learn double consonants (ㄲ, ㄸ,ㅃ,ㅆ,ㅉ) and basic final consonants (ㅇ, ㄱ,ㅁ,ㄹ,ㄴ,ㅂ,ㅅ). When the fall semester approaches the end, students’ Korean show great improvement and students can write more and more words by themselves. They are ready for dictation, can read simple stories by themselves, they are able to talk to each other about the stories they read.
The stories are a great way for the students to practice their Korean with each other. We teach our students grammar, and include art activities and simple games to enhance their learning. Students look forward to K-Pop dance, Taekwondo, and Korean Arts and Culture classes and feel accomplished when they are able to perform songs and dance at the end of the semester in Orange Class.
